As Jeremy Lin and the rest of the Houston Rockets prepared for media day this past weekened, they all knew what was coming. With a new team and the addition of star free agent Dwight Howard, the media wanted to hear all about how the new squad would mix together.

Lin was the first to admit that Howard's signing was relieving for him and takes some of the pressure away. He struggled at times in his first full season as a starter last year and admits that he failed to live up to the expectations that were in place following his magical time with the New York Knicks in the Big Apple.

"Learning to manage and deal with expectations and which voices to tune out takes time," Lin said at the media day. "You have to fail at it to get to where you want to get to."

As Howard takes the spotlight in Houston, he has already started to settle in with his teammates. He said the way the team has gotten along so far is reminiscient of the way his championship teams did when he was a member of the Orlando Magic.

"In Orlando, the years that we went to the Finals and made it deep into the playoffs, we spent a lot of time together," he said. "I really like that about this team. It's a close-knit team. The chemistry is already there. We spend time with each other. Also, we've been texting and talking about ways we can improve as a team. That's one thing I really like.

The Rockets will start the season at home on Oct. 30 with a matchup against the Charlotte Bobcats.
