In another edition of one of the NFL's greatest rivalries, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will play each other Sunday night in a classic NFC North game in Week 10 on NFL Sunday Night Football.

This is the single oldest rivalry in NFL history. The Packers and Bears are the two most successful franchises in the NFC North, winning more than 20 combined league championships. The hatred that these two teams have for each other runs deep, and it will show on the field on Sunday.

Let's see who has the edge in this game.

Green Bay Packers (5-3)

After starting the season 1-2, the Packers have been one of the hottest teams in the league lately. The Packers have won four of their last five games, and are coming off a bye week. The NFC North has been competitive, with the Detroit Lions leading the way at 6-2.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is having another great season with 19 touchdowns and just three interceptions, giving him a 113.6 passer rating. Rodgers' favorite target has been Jordy Nelson, who has 737 receiving yards this season. Randall Cobb also has a team-leading nine touchdowns for the Packers this year. Thanks to running back Eddie Lacy, the Packers have had a balanced attack over the last month of play.

The Packers offense ranks sixth overall in points scored.

Unfortunately, the Packers defense hasn't played nearly as good as the offense has this season. The Packers defense ranks 26th overall. Julius Peppers has proven to be a good offseason addition, as he does lead the team in sacks with four, but that hasn't made a huge difference. On the bright side, this Packers defense is forcing a lot of interceptions. Clay Matthews is considered one of the best linebackers in the league and Mason Crosby has missed just one field goal attempt this whole season.

Despite not having an elite defense in recent years, the Packers have won the NFC North the last three consecutive seasons.

Chicago Bears (3-5)

Despite this being an all-time great rivalry, the Bears just haven't been able to match the Packers success lately. Since 2011, the Bears have lost eight of their last nine games against the Packers. The only win for the Bears came last season when Rodgers had his collarbone broken in Week 9.

Jay Cutler is an average quarterback, but he always seems to play his worst against the Packers when it matters most. Just like the Packers, the Bears are also coming off a bye week. Running back Matt Forte has been the best player on the Bears this season, with 562 rushing yards and 490 receiving yards. Only Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk have run for 1,000 yards and received 1,000 yards in the same season.

The Bears defense has been absolutely terrible this season, ranking 29th overall in points against. To make matters worse, starting cornerback Charles Tillman is out for the season with a triceps injury.

Brandon Marshall is a great receiver, but he has just 384 yards this season, fourth most on the team. Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett have emerged as the two most reliable targets for Cutler this season. Defensive end Jared Allen has been a disappointing player this season for the Bears, and they will need him to play great against the Packers.

Schedule

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will play each other on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 8:30 p.m. EST. This game will be played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The game will be shown on NBC and you can view a live game stream here.
Prediction

The Packers already defeated the Bears at Soldier Field very convincingly, 38-17 in Week 4. Despite some defensive flaws, the Packers should have no problem handing the Bears their sixth loss of the season and improving to 6-3. Expect Rodgers to outlay Cutler, as usual.

Packers win 33-24
