Robert Griffin III will start for the Washington Redskins again on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the 24-year-old quarterback wants to stay focused on the tasks ahead of him.

Griffin said on Tuesday that he will be staying of Twitter and Facebook until end of the 2014 NFL season. The struggling quarterback does not want to get distracted by comments on his game and he also wants to avoid posting statement that could be "turned" against him.

"It just felt like, for me, anything I was saying, whether it was positive or negative, whether it was a positive retweet or anything, was getting twisted and turned against me and against this team," said Griffin, who has not posted any status update on both social networking websites since Thanksgiving.

By staying away from Twitter and Facebook, Griffin believes that he will be more focused on his game, and he will avoid becoming a distraction to his team, who are currently at the cellar of the National Football Conference East standings with their 3-11 record.

"I feel I can be free up here and talk to you guys, but sometimes things get twisted and turned and it creates a distraction for the team. I didn't want that to happen," Griffin added.

Griffin, who has completed 104 of 150 passes for 1,138 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in seven games this season, will look to help the Redskins end their disappointing season on a high note.

The former Baylor standout is back in the starting spot again after Colt McCoy, who started in their 24-13 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, went down with a season-ending neck injury.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden, who has criticized Griffin in public before, wants to see more confidence from the young quarterback in their game against the Eagles on Saturday and Dallas Cowboys next week.

"As a quarterback, you've got to have the confidence and you've got to feel like you have total control of the situation, which in turn makes you play free and have some fun playing," Gruden said of Griffin via Washington Post. "I think he might've been pressing a little too much early in the season, putting a little bit too much pressure on himself and therefore, some of the troubles incurred."
