Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested Wednesday after leaving a Manhattan recording studio as part of an investigation on gun shootings and drug trafficking.

The "Hot Boy" rapper, members of this group GS9, and 14 other members of his entourage were taken into custody for an investigation involving narcotics and gun shootings, New York Daily News has reported.

Authorities stopped the 20-year-old rapper in a car while he was leaving the Quad recording studios in Times Square and raided the studio. Officials obtained a warrant to search the recording studio famous for the 1994 nonfatal shooting of late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Police confiscated 16 total weapons during the arrest. Authorities searched the studio and Bobby's car and found three guns that belonged to the rapper, and the other 13 were found on those who were arrested with him, the Daily Beast reported.

Law enforcements say Bobby Shmurda, the man famous for the viral "Shmoney Dance" video, was indicted for an investigation that involved a violent crime in Brooklyn.

Spokeswoman for the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor Kati Cornell said the investigation included shootings and narcotic trafficking.

This is not the first time Shmurda has been in trouble with the law. In June, he had a felony weapons charge, and in August he was given a misdemeanor charge for the possession of marijuana.

Although he has run into the law in the past, Shmurda's uncle Garfield Pollard said the rapper was not aware of this recent bust.

"We don't know what is going on," Pollard told The Daily Beast. "We haven't talked to him yet."

The indictment is supposed to be unsealed Thursday morning in Manhattan Supreme court.

The New York Police Department has been investigating the case for a long time using the help of the Brooklyn Violence Reduction Task Force. Authorities say the group was involved in a series of shootings that devastated the city.

Bobby Shurmda is being held at the 71st precinct in Brooklyn.
