Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning will try to continue their dominant start against the Indianapolis Colts in what is expected to be an emotionally-charged match on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Manning will travel to Indianapolis for the first time since he was released by the Colts and subsequently joined the Broncos in the summer of 2012.

Manning won four Most Valuable Player Awards during his tenure with the Colts, but his crowning glory in Indianapolis remains the 2006 Super Bowl Championship.

Hours before his much awaited showdown with his former team, Peyton pointed out that his team with the Colts is still special to him despite his shocking departure that strained his relationship with team owner Jim Irsay.

"I don't play there anymore, but I've continued to communicate and I've enjoyed those times when I see someone from Indiana in a hotel or an '18' Colts jersey out here at practice," Manning told ESPN. "There's always a connection there."

With Manning running the offense, the Broncos became one of the scariest teams to play these past two seasons. This year, Manning and the Broncos are even more dominant after torching every team they faced through the first six weeks.

On the other hand, the Colts have played pretty well in the post-Manning era. One of the reasons to the Colts' rise is second-year quarterback Andrew Luck, who has been extremely efficient in his first two seasons as a pro.

Dubbed as the future of the team, Luck has so far put the Colts in playoff contention for the second consecutive year after winning four of their first six games.

Tale of the Tape

Manning (178-240, 2179 yds, 22 tds) vs. Luck  (115-186, 1346 yds, 7 tds)

Manning's effect has been incredible for the Broncos, who topped the league in average passing yards (360.7 yards per game) and ranked 15th in average rushing yards (115.3 yard per game). Moreover, the Broncos also boast the most formidable defense against rush, containing opposing team's rusher to just 69.8 rushing yards per game.

The Colts ranked 8th in average rushing yards (215.8) and 23rd in passing yards (215.8). They are a very good defensive team against the pass at 205 opponents' passing yards per game but they are second to the last in defending the rush at 132 opponent's rushing yards per game.
