Chance the Rapper used his celebrity power for a good cause on Monday in Chicago.

According to Hip Hop DX, the 21-year-old Chicago native attended the Chicago's Get Schooled, Get Connected Challenge event at Malcolm X College. The campaign connected organizations such as Get Schooled, Internet Essentials by Comcast, Chicago City of Learning (CCOL) and other community groups in the city. Students were rewarded with laptops, clothes and gaming systems for their involvement. They also earned points for their school's overall score.

Chance presented students with a $100,000 check from Internet Essentials. The funds will be shared between six schools and six CBOs that earned the most points during the competition and will help better computer labs, increase Wi-Fi capabilities on school grounds and educate students on digital literacy.

The rapper was joined by Christina Milian and Sway Calloway at the event.

Chance shared a selfie with Milian from the event on his Instagram page.

"It means a lot when celebs come to the city and give back to a community they aren't from. Made a good friend today," the caption said.

According to the Get Schooled website, the initiative offers high school students "a chance to connect with students across Chicago as you work to compete in weekly quests; play interactive games, polls and trivia; and explore a ton of education resources to help you make the leap from high school to college without missing a beat!" The program lasted from Oct. 6, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015.

Chance is no stranger to charity in the city of Chicago. He frequently gives back to his Chicago community. Last year, he was named the city's "Outstanding Youth of the Year." According to Pitchfork, his plaque read, "for your outstanding contributions for the youth of the state of Illinois."

In early 2014, Chance also worked with his father to promote the #SaveChicago campaign, resulting in the city going 42 hours without a gun-related homicide.

Chance the Rapper gained widespread recognition last year following the release of his second mix tape, "Acid Rap."
