Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains mum about his possible showdown against Manny Pacquiao, but the Filipino boxing icon is still confident the long-awaited super fight will happen on May 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Sky Sports' Ringside, Pacquiao sounded convinced that his fight against Mayweather will indeed happen on Cinco de Mayo weekend because the bout might not happen anymore if the current negotiation will not come to fruition again.

"I think it will happen, I believe that," Pacquiao said. "If this doesn't happen now I don't think it will, so now is the time. If you ask me what the percentage is, it's 80-20 [that it will happen]."

Pacquiao, the reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion, pointed out that Mayweather has no other option but to accept the fight because they have already agreed to all terms set by the reigning pound-for-pound king, and boxing fans are already pressuring the unbeaten superstar.

"I think he's got pressure. He's got no alibi -- blood testing is no longer a problem, Bob Arum the promoter is no longer a problem, now there are no more problems," Pacquiao added. "The fans are pressuring him. I tell them we have agreed everything, the rules and regulations are not a problem."

Previous negotiation for the fight went down because the two camps failed to find a common ground in terms of split on fight purse. Mayweather also demanded for a random drug testing, which was not accepted by Pacquiao, thinking that it might weaken him on fight night.

Pacquiao said in recent interviews that drug testing will not be a hindrance anymore because he underwent such tests in his previous fights against Brandon Rios, Timothy Bradley and Chris Algieri.

The eight-division world champion also added that they agreed to a 60-40 split on fight purse, insisting that giving boxing fans the fight that they have been asking for is more important than what he will earn from the bout.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the negotiation for the super fight, Pacquiao is already being linked to other possible opponents like Amir Khan, his former sparring partner.

Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum confirmed to ESPN that there is a growing interest for the Pacquiao-Khan showdown in London, but the famed promoter insisted that finalizing the fight against Mayweather is still their top priority.
