"Spectre" actor Daniel Craig had surgery after he injured his knee on the set of the upcoming James Bond film.

The actor had surgery over the Easter weekend for a knee injury and will miss three weeks of production on the film. A statement from Eon Productions said, "During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood."

It is unlikely that production will be disrupted and that it will delay the film as the production will most likely have a number of action sequences to film that will require stunts and other actors not involving Craig.

Craig was reportedly injured during a fight scene in February and production was halted for the actor to recover from his injury.

"Spectre" began production in December and has already seen shot in London, Mexico, Austria and Rome. Production is scheduled to travel to Morocco in June and will film in Oujda, Tangier and Erfoud after preliminary work is completed by the production's second unit.

Producer Micheal G. Wilson has already revealed that the opening action sequence will be the biggest sequence ever produced for a James Bond film. It was reported that the scenes will include a Day of the Dead festival filmed in and around the Zócalo and the Centro Histórico district.

Sony released a Teaser trailer that revealed that the film will be a continuation of "Skyfall" and also showcased a number of moody scenes. The film is currently being scored by Thomas Newman and is being shot by cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema.

Sam Mendes is returning as the director of the film and the movie also stars Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Stephanie Sigman and Lea Seydoux.

Sony plans on opening the film on Nov. 6, in time for the holiday season.
