In "Reign" Season 2 Episode 21, "The Siege," Condé sent Mary a note asking to meet. They met in the woods. He apologized. She accepted the apology and planned to sneak him out of town by forging papers identifying him as a tanner.

The plan was foiled when Renaude discovered Condé at a checkpoint. Queen Elizabeth's men swooped in to rescue him. Once safe from danger, the men told Condé that he needs to marry Elizabeth, but there is a catch: Elizabeth wants France, and in order to obtain it, she must marry the King of France -- not a prince.

Condé realized that he needs to kill King Francis and become king.

While Renaude was on the search for Condé, Kenna fantasized about him. When he returned, she met up with him in a castle hallway where he spoke frankly about ambition. She swooned, and he said, "I'm always happy to know I've pleased a lady."

Later, Kenna visited his room where she offered herself.

"Impress me," she told him.

Meanwhile, Leith caught Claude in a lie; she told him that she wanted to visit the "hat maker," but really planned on meeting her lover. He refused to escort her or allow her to leave. He left the castle to visit the Cardinal for an update about the annulment.

Leith would have to work for the Cardinal longer to pay off the annulment, or the Cardinal suggested that he steal an item from the castle and sell it to get the money faster.

Desperate, Leith decided to steal a jeweled dagger from the castle. Claude caught him in the act. She told him that unless he wanted to be reported as a thief he best do her bidding.

Leith took Claude into town so that she could rendezvous with her lover, but things did not happen as she had hoped. Her lover had sex with her, refused her request to legitimize their relationship and left.

Back at the castle, Leith's shift ended and he prepared to leave. Claude, feeling rejected by her lover, asked Leith to leave Greer. Leith said he could not - he would do whatever it takes to make Greer his wife. Claude gave him her diamond earrings to sell so that he could get the annulment.

Leith went to Greer with the good news. He was baffled that she hesitated to give up her independence and the brothel. He gave her an ultimatum: him or the brothel. Greer chose the brothel.

Catherine asked Narcisse to prove his love by doing something unforgivable to Lola. He made an inappropriate drawing of Lola naked, which was passed around the court noblemen. Lola found out when she snatched the drawing from the hands of a man gawking at her. She confronted Narcisse who claimed that he shared it with other nobles to win a bet.

King Francis learned that Mary tried, once again, to save Condé. He told her it's the most dangerous thing she has ever done.

Mary asked him for forgiveness, but Francis could not forgive her while Condé remains free to rally against France.

At that moment, for the first time, Mary realized her dealings with Condé placed all of France in jeopardy.

In the "Reign" season 2 finale, "Burn," Mary will risk everything to take down Condé, though Francis believes she is turning against France. Catherine meets with Queen Elizabeth (guest star Rachel Skarsten) in a shocking plot to seek revenge on Mary. Meanwhile, Kenna has a secret that will seal the fate of her relationship with Bash.
