“American Horror Story” season 5 will be premiering this fall, and one “AHS” veteran has hinted that she might return to the FX horror anthology. Emma Roberts, who first started in the series franchise in “American Horror Story: Coven” apparently wants to pull double duty on television.

Roberts was cast as the lead star in another Ryan Murphy horror comedy -- “Scream Queens” -- but the young, busy actress has expressed that she wants to return to the show.

“To go from ‘American Horror Story’ to this and then, hopefully, back to ‘American Horror Story’ at the end of the year is a dream come true,” Roberts told E! Online at the Fox Upfronts in New York City.

Roberts appeared to be quite positive in saying that she will be part of “American Horror Story: Hotel” “at the end,” but Murphy still had the last say about it. “I am hoping,” she added. “But, I do not know. You will have to ask Ryan.”

Roberts is actually not the first “American Horror Story” alum to express interest in joining season 5. Taissa Farmiga, who appeared on “Monster House” and “Coven” have also wanted to be part of the show again, according to E! News. Plus, “Freak Show” stars Denis O’Hare, Naomi Grossman, and Finn Wittrock have also been quite vocal with their wishes to be in “Hotel.”

To date, Murphy has neither confirmed nor denied Roberts’ statements that she will be part of the new season, but what is sure, though, is that she will be playing the lead role of Chanel Oberlin in “Scream Queens.” She will be starring alongside Keke Palmer, Ariana Grande and “Glee” star Lea Michele, among others.

“Emma Roberts is Chanel, who is the president of Kappa Sorority,” Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. “She is very funny and very ruthless. All her life, all she has wanted to do is be president of Kappa and have this great boyfriend and rule the roost. She is very fashionable.”

So far, only bits and pieces about the plot of “American Horror Story” season 5 have been revealed, but its cast is clearly shaping up to be one of the most significant ensembles on television.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” will feature Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Lady Gaga. Recent reports indicated that the main cast will be completed in the coming weeks.
