Ronda Rousey took a swipe at Floyd Mayweather Jr. when the Ultimate Fighting Championship women's bantamweight champion was asked about facing the undefeated boxing champion.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Rousey was asked if she thinks she can defeat Mayweather. The UFC women's superstar said that she thinks she can, but she quickly added that they will only fight if they ended up dating -- a swipe at Mayweather's history of domestic violence.

"Well, I would never say that I can't beat anyone, but I don't think me and him would ever fight, unless we ended up dating," Rousey said in jest.

Mayweather, who recently improved his record to 48-0 after scoring a unanimous decision win against Manny Pacquiao earlier this month, spent three months in jail in 2012 for domestic violence after assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Rousey on Fighting a Man

Rousey, who holds a perfect 11-0 record inside the Octagon, is being linked to a fight against men mixed martial artists because of lack of competition. Analysts and former UFC champions also said that they can see the 28-year-old winning against a man inside the Octagon.

But in an interview with Yahoo Sports, Rousey reiterated that she has no desire to face a male opponent because it will send a wrong message, considering the recent domestic violence cases involving popular athletes over the past several months.

"I just don't think there should ever be a situation where there is an arena full of people gathered around cheering about a man hitting a woman," Rousey said. "I really don't see how that would be right."

Rousey, who is scheduled to defend her bantamweight title against Bethe Correia at UFC 190 on Aug. 1 in Rio de Janeiro, also reiterated that it will not make boxing and MMA more popular.

"I really don't see how that would help the sport at all. It would do nothing but hurt it," she added. "Because it's real, it's a real fight. It's not like it's a movie or a part of a storyline. It's an actual man hitting a woman and I don't think that's ever acceptable."
