Carrie Underwood wants to make it stop.

The "Jesus Take the Wheel" crooner recently hinted to Win Country radio that her whole motivation for the lyrics she wrote in the "Little Toy Guns" song was the thought of shielding children everywhere.

"There's these characters in the song and there's a little girl, and she hears her parents fighting, as unfortunately a lot of kids do, and you don't really realize how that can affect your child," she said. "And I've seen it firsthand from different people in my life."

With that in mind, the former "American Idol" winner wanted to remind parents everywhere of the effects and impact their "words can have on their offspring."

The 32-year-old Underwood and NHL husband Mike Fisher recently gave birth to their first child, and she's hopeful that their son will never have to deal with some of the issues the little girl she sings about in "Toy Guns" so frequently has to.

"It's basically her saying, 'I wish their words weren't real. I wish they were like little toy guns, and they didn't hurt you.' So, that's kind of what it's about."

In the June cover story issue of Glamour magazine, Underwood talks about Fisher.

Of all her relationships, she told the magazing that their now 22-month union has been different.

"He's the only guy I've never had to worry about," Underwood said.

The singer also explained that she's not the "crazy girlfriend type," but her husband also makes it easy for her.

"I don't have to worry about Mike. I don't think twice. He's going out? I don't care; it doesn't bother me. I don't bat an eye," she said.

Just the same, don't expect Underwood's next album, "Blown Away," to be layered with gushy love songs in tribute to her husband.

She describes it as having a "happy-go-lucky feeling" akin to a nice spring day where one can "put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world."
