Final Fantasy VII is coming back to consoles after 18 years. It will be a lot different this time around.

In an interview with Weekly Famitsu, via Vine Report, game remake creator Tetsuya Nomura stated that this will not be a simple remake -- the highly anticipated remake of the game will look a lot different.

"We can't talk about any further details, but it won't be a simple remake," he said. "We haven't put out any screenshots yet, but we're making considerable progress, so please look forward to it. This time we are formally introducing [Kazushige] Nojima as the scenario writer. That being the case, he will be influencing the setup as far as the story, so you'll have that to look forward to as well."

Nomura recently stated that he had planned only to add small things to the remake but changed his mind. He also said that he tried to do the FFVII remake before but it never came to fruition. It was later revealed that it was Nomura's boss, Shinji Hashimoto, who convinced him to do the remake. He stated: "Mr. Hashimoto was involved with the advertising and marketing of the original, so like [Yoshinori Kitas and myself], VII has a strong place in his heart."

There is not much known about the game but we do know this: Cloud, Barrett, Tifa and Aeris are back on the PS4 consoles.
