The former Disney star allegedly checked in at a rehab center in Arizona due to emotional issues and prescription drug abuse, reports Radar Online.

The 'Come and Get It' singer reportedly took to Dawn at The Meadows recovery facility in Wickenburg, Arizona January 5 for help, says Radar Online. Moreover, the singer stayed at the Arizona facility for a couple of weeks and voluntarily, at that.

One of the singer's unnamed representatives has reportedly confirmed Selena's 2-week stay at Dawn at the Meadows but refutes that it was for substance abuse. Instead, the rep told Radar Online that Selena's rehab stay was due to her "partying lifestyle."

Radar Online's source shares that Selena has actually been struggling with the partying lifestyle of celebrities and notes that such lifestyle almost always involves drug and alcohol abuse.

Selena "had been experimenting with marijuana and prescription drugs, including Xanax and Ambien," Radar Online's source reveals.

Xanax, a central nervous system depressant, can cause lack of coordination, slurred speech, confusion and disorientation if abused, says drugabuse.com. On the other hand, according to drugabuse.com, Ambien, a prescription drug for insomniacs, renders the body relaxed, comfortable and sleepy.

But what really pushed the former Disney star to check in at a recovery facility were emotional issues, another Radar Online source reveals. "Their relationship left her broken-hearted," said the source, obviously referring to Justin Bieber.

"I don't know whether Justin pushed her to drug use, but amongst their close knit group of friends, smoking was common place," another insider told Radar Online.

In a recent flight from Canada to New Jersey, Selena's on-and-off boyfriend, JB, along with 10 pals and his father, has reportedly smoked marijuana on board, reports NBC News. In fact, the whole plane was so filled with marijuana smoke that flight attendants allegedly had to wear oxygen masks.

"Selena came to understand just what a bad influence Justin had been on her life," said Radar Online's source. The 'Come and Get It' singer's recent break-up with Justin and her quick trip to the rehab facility seem to have paid off though, as another source told Radar Online that Selena is "now happy and very healthy."
