'The Hunger Games' star has reportedly split with longtime partner, Mimi O'Donnell way before he was found dead in his New York apartment Sunday morning, reports the International Business Times.

Philip and Mimi, a costume designer, have called it quits a few months before the actor's passing, the International Business Times report went on to say. Although Philip and Mimi have already separated, the two are reportedly still in constant communication, especially because they have three children.

'The Hunger Games' star and Mimi O'Donnell have two daughters, Tallulah and Willa and a son named Cooper Alexander out of their 15 years together.

According to IBT UK, the 46 year old actor was supposed to pick up Cooper Alexander, Tallulah and Willa from Mimi's residence, a few blocks away from Philip's New York apartment. However, the actor did not show up, prompting Mimi to call up the actor's assistant, Isabella Wing-Davey, to check on him.

Philip, who played the role of Freddie Miles in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley,' was found dead in the bathroom of his New York apartment with a needle sticking out of his arm, notes the Christian Post.

Showbiz Spy quotes an unnamed insider saying that Mimi was truly devastated at the news. "Mimi is inconsolable. Mimi already had a tough few days, after the recent hoax that claimed Philip had died. She will have to stay strong for the sake of their kids," the report read.

Mimi O'Donnell and the whole family have issued an official statement regarding Philip's passing which has been linked to drug abuse.

"We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers," the official statement read in the IBT UK report.
