In a year with so many Best Actor contenders, sometimes the finest performances get lost by the overcrowded season. One of the finest performances of the year comes from the late Philip Seymour Hoffman for his portrayal in "A Most Wanted Man."
"The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1" is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth and Elizabeth Banks, the film continues Katniss' journey as she reluctantly becomes the symbol of a mass rebellion against the autocratic Capitol. Lionsgate released a trailer last month to get audiences excited and based on that trailer, here are a number of things that could be said about the film.
While "A Most Wanted Man" certainly dabbles in politics and hints at political ramifications by its end, it achieves a far greater purpose. It emphasizes the eternal struggle--the Sisyphean struggle, if you will. And its climax carries the weight of that boulder rolling back down the hill. Sadly, we will never be able to see Philip Seymour Hoffman roll another boulder up the hill. But this last opportunity is certainly an unforgettable one.
