World Boxing Council Silver welterweight champion Amir Khan will beat International Boxing Federation champ Kell Brook if their proposed bout materializes next year, predicts former titlist Shawn Porter.

A Khan-Brook bout was proposed by Eddie Hearn, Brook's promoter as soon as TMZ Sports reported that Floyd Mayweather Jr. opted to face Andre Berto on Sept.12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas instead of Khan.

With Khan moving on after being snubbed by Mayweather again, he became more open to facing his fellow British boxer.

Khan told The National that he and Hearn talked about a possible fight with Brook at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom, as long as Brook also commits to his end of the bargain. The Bolton-born fighter still wanted him to fight first a "couple of big names and beat them" to make their fight in their own country "even bigger" for their boxing fans to witness.

Khan to win over Brook

Khan finds an ally in Porter, who lost the title against Brook in Carson, California last year.

Porter told behindthegloves.com that Khan has the tools to hand Brook his first loss. However, he also stated that his reason is more on the personal side. Porter is even eyeing to avenge his loss to Brook, if he gets a chance to face the winner of the All-British 2016 showdown.

"It doesn't matter who it is, I'll always go with them over Kell Brook. Normally I put my biased opinion aside but with him, I'm not. I think Khan beats him. It'd be a good fight. If I was guaranteed the winner I'd go over there, show my face at ringside and be ready to take care of the winner," Porter said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

Brook can take Khan

On the other hand, Frankie Gavin, who lost to Brook in May, believes his former foe has the advantage in case he collides with Khan. Gavin, who also sparred with Khan before, is a credible source to gauge the strengths these warriors possess, commented another article of Sky Sports.

"If I had to put a bet on it, I would put my money on Brook to win. It's a very good fight. His accuracy is very good. He picks his shots and knows where he is going to land them. He is the most accurate fighter that I've been in the ring with," Gavin told the site.

Gavin admitted that Khan's advantage is his speed but it may still not be enough to win.

"Amir is brilliant, he is fast, his speed is phenomenal. He's the fastest I have ever been in with, but he makes mistakes and he gets caught," Gavin added.
