ESPN Curt Schilling will not be on Sunday Night Baseball due to his controversial tweets about Nazis.

According to Bleacher Report, ESPN announced that Sunday Night Baseball's color commentator and former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling will be suspended for the rest of the season, after his controversial tweets about Muslims and Nazis.

ESPN Josh Krulewitz of ESPN Public Relations stated the following about Schilling's suspension:

"At all times during the course of their engagement with us, our commentators are directly linked to ESPN and are the face of our brand. We are a sports media company. Curt's actions have not been consistent with his contractual obligations nor have they been professionally handled; they have obviously not reflected well on the company. As a result, he will not appear on ESPN through the remainder of the regular season and our Wild Card playoff game."

Schiiling tweeted an apology about the tweet, which can be seen below:

Last month, Schilling sent out a controversial tweet comparing Muslims to Nazis. Although the tweet has been long deleted, Schilling originally tweeted, "It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?" The tweet also showed a picture of Adolf Hitler.

Schilling also added, "The math is staggering when you get to true #'s."

This is not the first time Schilling has been involved in controversy. Earlier this year, Schilling said the reason he has not been voted into the Hall of Fame is because he is a Republican.

He was also involved in a series of vulgar tweets, after someone was making sexual remarks toward his daughter, which resulted in the man getting fired from his job.
