Emilio Estefan Partnered With Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Thalía, & More For 'We're All Mexican' Song

Several Latino celebrities will be joining together to record a song to celebrate Latino culture for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Music producer Emilio Estefan announced that he and several popular Latino artists will be uniting to record "We're all Mexican," a song Estefan calls a "celebration of Hispanics and our accomplishments," reported Billboard.

"There's a message being sent out to the world where people are giving opinions that are plain wrong," said Estefan. "We need to lift up our pride and show the world what we're doing."

Singers Shakira, Thalía, Pepe Aguilar, musician Carlos Santana, reggaeton rapper Wisin, and rapper Wyclef Jean will all be joining Estefan and his wife Gloria, who will be singing on the song as well, to record the anthem, reported NBC News.

Many media outlets have taken the song to be a response to Donald Trump's racist remarks about Mexican immigrants, since it was that topic that united various Latino celebrities against Trump.

Several stars spoke out against Trump when he made the racist remarks while announcing his presidential bid. Many stars voiced their anger on social media and severed their relationships with the Republican candidate. Others made music, like pop singer Becky G, who put out a song called "We Are Mexico."

After a recent incident at a press conference, in which Trump kicked out respected Univision journalist Jorge Ramos, stars like Ricky Martin and Wisin wrote letters stating that "enough is enough."

However, in a video on his Facebook page, Estefan has made it clear that the song is not intended to be an anti-Trump anthem, as many have reported.

"I want to make sure people don't get confused," he said. "When I wrote and produced 'We're all Mexican,' it was scheduled to be released now for Hispanic Heritage Month, to bring people together."

"We're All Mexican" is set to be released later in September.
