Over the past few days, the Internet has been buzzing with rumors as to where the next "Assassin's Creed" game will take place.

In a previous article on GameSpot, Jade Raymond, head of Ubisoft's Toronto office teased gamers that the game will not be set in Japan. Although she agreed that a feudal Japan setting would be interesting for "Assassin's Creed," she hinted that the next game will take place in her favorite historical setting.

That's a bit of a hard clue to crack especially if you're not Raymond's best friend who she shares her most intimate historical interests with.

But, with the help of recently posted articles, the next "Assassin's Creed" setting may have been narrowed down to London or Russia.

First, let's talk about the London setting. According to a press release uncovered by Uproxx, Ubisoft confirmed that it's currently working on "Assassin's Creed V" and is scheduled for a worldwide release on Nov. 4 of this year. Here is the fifth installment's story from the statement:

"In the events of the ongoing Industrial Revolution, Assassin's Creed V follows the story of Samuel Fey, as he enters the Assassin Order in a time of change and Templar rule. Fey is a successful and respectful entrepreneur, who works outside the corrupt law to guarantee the security of his own and others' futures. Taking place during the closing years of the Industrial Revolution in Victorian London, players will explore all new locales as they uncover the truth behind the hidden ongoing rebellion."

However, the site admitted that the press release's authenticity is yet to be confirmed.

As for the Russia rumors, the Assassins Creed Initiates tweeted codes and coordinates, that when punched into Google Earth, referred to two places.

The first tweet, pointed to an area near Alberta, Canada, according to SegmentNext. This could possibly be the modern location for the upcoming game since the previous "Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag" took place in Quebec.

The second tweet led Google Earth explorers to Barguzin, Russia. Like the first clue, Russia is also a likely setting since the "Assassin's Creed: The Fall" comic book series follows the story of the Russian assassin, Nikolai Orelov, during the 1880s.

But, keep in mind that these are only speculations. For now, we'll just have to entertain ourselves with "Assassin's Creed V" theories while waiting for formal confirmation from Ubisoft.
