A great aid will arrive at S.H.I.E.L.D. to possibly help the agency solve Jemma Simmons' case.

In the second episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3, an Asgardian character will grace the series as stated on its synopsis released by ABC, Comic Book Resources announced:

"Fitz and the team enlist the aid of an Asgardian to unlock the secrets of the ancient monolith that swallowed Simmons, and Agent May is at a crossroads in her personal and professional life."

During the last season's finale, Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was captured by the Kree monolith. Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), who was nervous that time while asking Simmons for dinner, accidentally opened the huge glass container. When Fitz left, the Kree rock momentarily turned into liquid, found its way through the opening and swallowed Simmons.

On Entertainment Weekly, Chloe Bennet who plays Daisy Johnson/Quake, said that there will be a big time gap and indicated that the team exerted so much to get Simmons back but to no avail. However, Bennet also revealed that Fitz was the only person determined to find her again.

The series' executive producer Jeff Bell teased on TV Line that Simmons' concern was actually "fun stuff."

Henstridge likes what's in store for her character, Zap2it noted.

"It's so much bigger than I thought it would be. What it is, I thought about it and was like, 'How would they do that? How would they film that?' I just dismissed everything in the realm of this idea. It's very cool," Henstridge shared.

Still, it will be a relief for all the show's fans to also know what is this about, since it was obviously something they have been discussing for so many months now, as seen on Overmental.

The second episode titled "Purpose in the Machine" may hopefully give light to Simmons' situation. Asgardians Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) and Professor Elliot Randolph (Peter MacNicol) are both reliable sources of information for the agency. Both of them may impart some wisdom on these Kree artifacts although Lady Sif may actually have more knowledge between the two, especially she is Thor's friend and a warrior who met several types of creatures in her life.

Lady Sif also appeared last season, when she encountered and returned a Kree named Vin-Tak (Eddie McClintock) to his planet, whose mission was to kill all Inhumans or powered individuals enhanced by the Terrigen crystals.

However, Broadway World noted it is MacNicol who will guest next season. It will be interesting to see the veteran actor on the series again.
