Selena Gomez is mourning her makeup artist and friend Jake Bailey, after he was found dead on Friday.

The 37-year-old celebrity makeup artist was found at his Los Angeles residence, according to Us Weekly. Bailey's assistant found him inside a black SUV outside the home. After dragging Bailey from the vehicle and trying to revive him, the assistant called the cops immediately.

Bailey seemed to have "succumbed to carbon monoxide" in what is suspected to be a suicide, according to TMZ. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office will be performing an autopsy in the next few days to determine the exact cause of death.

"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jake Bailey's passing," a rep for Starworks said. "He was an undeniable talent, a great friend, a loving son and brother, and our grief is shared with all those whose lives he's touched."

"As one of the industry's most sought after makeup artists, Jake worked with an incredible client roster and his work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair, and Allure," the company's statement continued. "He collaborated with some of the top photographers in the fashion and entertainment industries and was also a passionate photographer himself. Jake was a mentor to many, and his work will continue to inspire. He will be truly missed by those who knew him."

Bailey was known for working with celebrities, such as Gomez, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Julianne Hough and Nicole Richie. The makeup artist was constantly posting photos on social media of his famous clients, featuring the makeup he had done for them for magazine covers, photo shoots and red carpet snapshots.

The last post Bailey put up on Instagram was of himself, leaning up against the wall of a building with a smile on his face. He wore a blue Hawaii T-shirt and dark pants.
