Quantic Dream has recently released a new video that explains what players can expect from their new upcoming project Detroit.

The game is set to center around a world where humans and androids coexist and plans to touch on subjects that pertain to what it means to be alive. Studio Head David Cage also states that the new technology of the PS4 should help bring a new degree of realism to the title, something that wasn't possible with their previous ones.

"Detroit is featuring a brand new 3D engine; we love to do one engine per game [laughs], which is a bit crazy," he said. "But the idea of course is to really leverage the power of the console and really try to offer a visual experience and a gameplay experience that will hopefully be much better than on the previous generation of consoles."

Quantic Dream is responsible for the PS3 titles Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. Their games rely heavily on detailed graphics and storytelling through clever use of motion capture. Cage prompts players that they can expect this all to improve with the release of Detroit, particularly with better facial animation, better lighting, and a more realistic environment.

Cage also makes the point that despite Detroit sharing the same spirit of their previous games, they plan to make it entirely its own.

"I think there are some common points with what we've done in the past; it's based on storytelling, it's based on emotion and the emotional involvement of the player in the experience," he said. "But I think the game has its own voice and it's really a different experience from Beyond and Heavy Rain in many, many ways."

The game doesn't yet have a release date.
