"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gun has been very vocal on Facebook about communicating plans for the upcoming films with fans. He has now decided to also use the social media network to make some major clarifications.

The director recently took to Facebook to tell fans that he is not in charge of the audition process.

"I do not schedule auditions and I do not cast and find extras," he wrote. "There are people who do that and with a little bit of detective work, you can probably find out who.

"But it's not me. I only see background faces and audition tapes at the end of the line, after the extras casting director and casting director have sorted out all the best possible options, and I choose from there."

Gunn was apparently receiving a plethora of messages from fans regarding the possibility of playing background characters and he decided that it was necessary to clarify his role in that process.

Gunn also made it clear that while he does let friends and families cameo in the movies, he is not offering the same opportunity to people messaging him via social media.

He did express that he understood the desires of the fans, but also asked them to respect his social media page as a means to "discuss films and art and ambitions and careers and psychological well-being." In essence, he is not hiring anyone via social media for the hotly anticipated sequel.

The film is currently casting extras and casting news also came to the fore when it was made public that Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey had turned down the villain role in the upcoming Marvel movie.

The movie is slated to enter production in February in Atlanta, Georgia. The film is slated for release on May 5, 2017.
