Lady Gaga has reportedly worked with Chic's Nile Rodgers on "a forthcoming album."

The 63-year-old disco legend revealed news of the collaboration in a recent New York Times profile piece.

Rodgers met Gaga after being introduced to her by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, after they snapped photos of him for French Vogue in May. Van Lamsweerde and Matadin, a Dutch fashion photographer duo, had previously directed Gaga's "Applause" music video and worked extensively with her on 2013's "ARTPOP." Subsequent to their meeting Rodgers and Gaga decided to head into the studio last spring to work on some music for her upcoming album.

Gaga also sang lead on Chic's reworked rendition of the 1978 disco track "I Want Your Love," which was used for designer Tom Ford's fall 2015 ad campaign.

Rodgers has also been booked for next year's Coachella festival. This event may be the opportune moment for Rodgers and Gaga to preview their new collaboration, which may or may not be featured on Chic's much-anticipated comeback album. In addition to his work with Gaga, Rodgers has also worked with Keith Urban, Elton John and Beck for the forthcoming release.

Gaga has been in the studio working with producer RedOne on her upcoming release she's tentatively dubbed LG5. RedOne has previously worked with Gaga on songs, such as "Poker Face" and "LoveGame." This new release will be her fifth studio album and follow-up to "ARTPOP," which produced the singles "

Currently the Mother Monster is busy starring as The Countess on "American Horror Story: Hotel."
