The rumor mill for Samsung Galaxy S7 release date continues to churn out interesting details. Believed to be launched earlier than the usual release schedule of its predecessors, the Galaxy S7 is arriving first quarter of next year.

According to Android Origin, there are several rumored release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S7. One of them suggests that the next-gen smartphone from South Korean tech giant will arrive sometime this January, primarily because of the company's switch to Agile development.

Some believe the Samsung Galaxy S7 release date will happen ahead of the tech company's Unpacked 2016 event. However, the report also noted the possibility that the rumored Samsung device will arrive on Feb. 22 or Feb. 25.

The mentioned dates are the supposed release schedule for the smartphone's firmware, which is reportedly in development. However, this detail about the simultaneous launch for the Galaxy S7 and its firmware should be taken by tech enthusiasts with a grain of salt until Samsung releases its official announcement for the device.

It is also possible that there could be two variants for the phone, one that sports a normal screen while the other one features a curved display, Android Origin noted. This is supported by a previous report from Techno Buffalo, which noted that AT&T has been testing the smartphone, specifically the two variants with model numbers SM-G935A and SM-G930.

Accordingly, these model numbers refer to a traditional Samsung Galaxy S7 and a possible successor to Galaxy S6 Edge. After comparing the model numbers from the available devices now, it suggested that the SM-G935A will be the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which will feature the curved glass display. SM-G930A will be the standard variant, on the other hand.

As for the Galaxy S7 specs, Latin Post previously reported the possible specs of the Samsung Galaxy S7. Accordingly, the 2016 flagship device might have a 4k display plus a 20-MP primary camera.

Android Origin further shared that the panel size of the phone could be between 5.2 and 5.7 inches. The flagship device is also reportedly getting two different processors namely the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890, rumored to become available under different Galaxy S7 versions.

Comparing it to the current Samsung offering, the Samsung Galaxy S6, with model number SM-G920 sports a 5.1-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels and pixel density of 577 ppi. The Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is powered by Exynos 7420 chipset. As for the OS, the smartphone can now be officially upgraded to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
