The rumor mill on Samsung Galaxy S7 release date and specs continue to churn out interesting tidbits. Recent reports revealed that a major network carrier in the U.S. is currently testing it out.

Samsung recently launched two new smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, rumors are already circulating about the 2016 flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant, which is expected to be the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Android Headlines revealed that the device may have an earlier launch, compared to the usual release schedule of previous generations. The report noted the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S7 may have a release date set for the end of January 2016.

And this early release rumor further intensified when Evan Blass or more popularly known as @evleaks on Twitter, a prominent tipster in the tech industry, shared that AT&T is currently testing the Samsung Galaxy S7 on its network. Moreover, Blass also revealed that the network carrier is also testing two variants of the rumored smartphone, bearing the model numbers SM-G935A and SM-G930A.

Techno Buffalo shared that these model numbers refer to a traditional Samsung Galaxy S7 and a possible successor to Galaxy S6 Edge. Specifically, after comparing the model numbers from the available devices now, it suggested that the SM-G935A will be a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which features a curved glass display.

Below is the introduction video posted by Samsung Mobile on its official Youtube account for the recently-released Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge:

Blass also revealed a more specific release window for the Galaxy S7, suggesting that it might happen early to mid of the first quarter of 2016. This means that the phone's arrival may happen from January to end of February.

Because of this, speculations arose citing the feasibility that instead of the usual Mobile World Congress 2016 launch, the Samsung Galaxy S7 may be released during the annual Consumer Electronics Show set every January.

As for the specs, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is rumored to sport a 4K display and a 20-MP primary camera.

Moreover, Techno Buffalo reported that one of the upcoming smartphone's variant might be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor, while another Galaxy S7 variant could get Samsung's Exynos 8890 chipset.
