The new logo for the upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie has been revealed.

The logo is a large gold-plated "W" emblematic of the famed heroine. This reveal comes days after an image for the hotly anticipated film arrived online showcasing the character in a seeming disguise and facing the camera.

The movie is currently in production with the film slated for a 2017 release date. There is actually no major knowledge regarding the plot or direction of the story, but the film is connected to the new DC Comics universe that Warner Bros. is building.According to MoviePilot. there are some rumors that the new movie may take place in modern times with consistent flashbacks to the past. This was all but confirmed with a recent picture of actor Chris Pine in older attire. According to Fansided, other rumors claim Circe is the main villain of the film and will transform into Chimera in the final act of the movie. There are even rumors that Batman could be involved in the film in a minor role.

The film will not be the debut for the character, however, as Wonder Woman is expected to bow in the hotly anticipated "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Gal Gadot is playing the role, but how Wonder Woman interacts with the two titular heroes of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" remains a mystery. According to MoviePilot, some have speculated that she might be working for Lex Luthor.

All of these questions will be answered soon enough when "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" makes its debut in 2016. The new "Wonder Woman" film stars Gadot, Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Lucy Davis, and Elena Anaya.

Zack Snyder, the director of "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," produced the film alongside Deborah Snyder, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle. Patty Jenkins is directing from a script by Jason Fuchs.
