The iWatch is Apple's answer to Samsung Galaxy's smartwatches that are up for release this year. In fact, Apple's iWatch has been planned for release for a long time now, but Apple has been very quiet as to what the features of the device are. According to rumors, there will be mass production from July until September this year and over 2 million units are expected to be sold.

There was leaked information regarding the features of iWatches and how they would be different from smartwatches produced by Samsung. First of all, Apple is said to use the flexible OLED displays for the iWatch. The technology used in iWatch is said to be similar to the Korean manufacturer LG G Flex handset. The display measures 1.52 inches. The glass that will be used is the P-OLED or the plastic OLED.

However, it is uncertain whether the watch is bendable or not or if it has an anti-scratch technology. There is also a delay on the release of the device due to the difficulties experienced by Apple in terms of the screen technology and battery life.

Currently, it is believed that Apple is working on 3 different design prototypes. All of them make use of the flexible P-OLED screens. The difference lies in the size of the OLED panel. The 1.5-inch iWatch is given a limited production run while the 1.3-inch and 1.4-inch are still being worked on at this point in time.

There were also some rumors that Apple is considering a partnership with mechanical watch manufacturers, including Swatch. However, according to Swatch's CEO Nick Hayek, although there were discussions regarding a partnership, they see no reason for engaging in such a partnership agreement. It is believed that Apple is now looking into some other options for a partner. Many other details about the production of the iWatch have remained in secret. This includes the price of the product along with some other features.
