After Ellona Santiago's shocking elimination, the number of contestants is down to four. Alex and Sierra, Carlito Olivero, Jeff Gutt and the Restless Road battled it out on the show's semi-finals round.

Simon Cowell's stronghold duo, Alex and Sierra performed Sara Bareilles' song, "Gravity." According to Sara Bareilles herself, the crowd favorite did the song justice. The singer expressed her appreciation for the duo's rendition through her twitter account saying:

"Alex & Sierra SLAAAYEED Gravity on The X Factor. Wow. Wow. Beautiful."

Sara Bareilles even included a link to the real life couple's rendition on iTunes.

Alex and Sierra tweeted the singer for the second time: "we know we already tweeted you but we love you so much and are so thankful you wrote such a stunning song AH <3"

They also sang "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men.

Carlito Olivero took to fellow Latino Marc Anthony and performed "I Need to Know." He also performed Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend." The singer had Latinos and Latinas tweeting praises for his performances. In return, Carlito gave a shout-out to fans and told them how much he loved them through his Twitter account:

"I Love u all so much. We have come so far. I am so proud of u. No matter what happens tonight in my heart I already won! #teamcarlito"

Team Alex and Sierra was stacked up against Carlito Olivero in performing "Falling Slowly." According to Carlito's mentor, the singer did a good job with the song. Simon commented that Sierra practically "stole the song" with her performance.

Jeff Gutt performed Imagine Dragons' "Demons" and Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah." With tears in her eyes, mentor Kelly Rowland expressed appreciation for the singer. Jeff also earned a standing ovation.

Jeff was not the only one who earned a standing ovation that night. The Restless Road also amazed the crowd and the judges with Hunter Hayes' song "Wanted." They also performed "That's My Kind of Night" by Luke Bryan earlier in the show.

Jeff Gutt and the trio were also up against each other that night with their performance of "Every Breath You Take."

In the end, Carlito Olivero's "Suavemente", Alex and Sierra's "Let Her Go" and Jeff Gutt's "Open Arms" earned them tickets to the final competition. Simon Cowell's beloved trio, the Restless Road have been dropped out of the competition.

The show will resume in five days for the finals.
