The current king of bachata has very dedicated fans. Jennifer Nieves, a fan of Dominican singer Romeo Santos, has created a petition to have a wax figure of the star made at Madame Tussauds.

According to Billboard
, Nieves, who lives in the Bronx where Santos was raised, created a Change.org petition
asking Madame Tussauds to create a wax figure in the singer's honor.

The petition, which already has almost 7,000 signatures, says, "It is by request and high demand that Romeo Santos truly deserves this wax figure to honor his great success. From his beloved smile, dance moves, skills, and smooth voice that drives all his Romeistas crazy, he truly deserves a place at The Madame Tussauds in New York City."

Santos has a huge following in New York City. The Wall Street Journal reported that the singer was the most popular artist in more than 50 neighborhoods in the city.

The 34-year-old is also the artist with the most views on YouTube. He beat out stars like Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Kanye West.

In 2014, Santos spoke to Rolling Stones about going back to the Bronx to perform his sold out shows at Yankee Stadium.

"It's the first time that a Latino has been able to perform -- headline alone -- at such a prestigious stadium," he said.

"It's a huge responsibility: This is where all my family and all my friends and all my fans come together, so I want to make it a historic event. I wouldn't be able to tell you when it will happen again, but I can tell you that it's the first time that it's happened, and I'm just really amazed at what's really happened in my career."

Famous Latino musicians who currently have wax statues at the famous museum include Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Shakira and Pitbull.

As of recent, online petitions seem to be the way for fans to get attention for their favorite artists. Recently MAC announced it would release a makeup collection inspired by Selena Quintanilla after fans created a petition online to get the brand's attention. The same is now being done for iconic R&B singer Aaliyah.
