Lady Gaga Knocks Ronda Rousey After Heavyweight Title Loss
Lady Gaga called out Ronda Rousey on Instagarm on Saturday after the UFC champ lost the heavyweight title.
The 29-year-old "Born This Way" singer knocked the former Ultimate Fighting Championship women's bantamweight champion, according to Entertainment Tonight. Rousey's 12-fight winning streak finally ended, after she was defeated by Holly Holm at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
Several celebrities took to social media to voice their feelings on the MMA match, including Gaga, who posted a photo to Instagram of Rousey getting knocked out with the caption, "THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT TOUCHING GLOVES!"
In addition to Mother Monster, Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato also shared tweets after being shocked by the outcome of the fight.
Jonas tweeted, "Congrats to @GregJacksonMMA and the new champion @_HOLLYHOLM blown away by this fight."
Lovato tweeted ".@ufo y'all better have that rematch in the U.S... If so I'll be there #UFC193 #TeamRousey."
Some of Rousey's rivals, such as Miesha Tate, Bethe Correia -- who lost to Rousey in 34 seconds during their match in August -- and Cris Cyborg -- who hasn't faced Rousey yet -- tweeted their own reactions to the match as well.
"Congratulation Holy Holm amazing head kick! @_HOLLYHOLM Deus é justo! God is fair!" Cyborg tweeted.
After taking a kick to the head from Holm in the second round, Rousey was left temporarily unconscious for about 59 seconds. She was sent to the hospital following the fight. Rousey's lip had split in half from the blow and had to be sewn back together, according to UFC president Dana White.
