Following the success of other comic book adaptations on cable television, Syfy is bringing another horror conversion to their network with "Harrow County."

According to Deadline, the comic book series is a product of Dark Horse, which was written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Tyler Crook. It has been optioned for a TV series on Syfy and Becky Kirsch has been tapped to write the show.

The show takes on the familiar theme for comic book adaptations on TV these days, which is a horror series.

"Harrow County" is a unique story that features a crossover of several different scary creatures from popular fiction. These include ghosts, goblins and restless dead folk (not exactly zombies though).

The story centers around a young girl named Emmy who is about to embark on her 18th birthday. She lives in a Harrow County and she has a unique connection to the ominous forces that surround the land. She has always been aware of the creature's existence, but the other townsfolk seem to be a bit naïve to the idea.

The story starts to unfold when she begins to realize her own dark roots and how they relate to the supernatural beings that surround her. As it turns out, the day she was born also happened to be the same day a powerful witch was put to death. As you might have already guessed, Emmy is the reincarnation of that witch.

The story dives even deeper into the conspiracy when the townsfolk find out who she really is, considering they are the ones that put the original witch to death on her birthday. So now there is a price on her head and she must fight against all odds to stay alive, battling against both sides of the skirmish.

The TV project is still in its earliest stages and there has been no word yet when production will start on the series or when it will premiere on the cable network.
