Grant Ward becomes a greater threat in "Maveth," the 10th episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." this Season 3.

Ward, the traitor who spied on S.H.I.E.L.D. and a member of HYDRA, is actually dead, but the Inhuman on the planet called Maveth entered his body, Comic Book informed. Thus, Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his agency will now deal with a more powerful Ward (Brett Dalton) persona when they meet again.

Coulson was the reason Ward died. Before Fitz and the agency director returned to Earth through the portal, Coulson crushed Ward's chest using his robotic arm. Indeed, Coulson was the one who finally had his payback for all the things Ward did to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Truly, Ward's acts were beyond redemption. Ward killed Eric Koenig and Victoria Hand in the first season. He almost killed Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen). Ward also tortured Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and plotted on killing Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), May's Loved ones and Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood). In "Closure," he shot Rosalind Price (Constance Zimmer), whom Coulson begins to cherish, A.V. Club noted.

However, it may also come as a surprise that Coulson was able to kill Ward. Fitz and Coulson were the only ones who knew about this. Most probably, they will be shocked to see Ward again at HYDRA's camp in the future and will be forced to tell the truth if it happens.

Although this may mean that fans will still get to see Ward's human form, the series truly killed off his character. The true Ward no longer exists. Thus, it also means, that once S.H.I.E.L.D. resolves their case against the Maveth Inhuman or defeats him through other Inhumans like Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), Joey (Juan Pablo Raba) and Lincoln (Luke Mitchell), the human Ward will not appear in the show anymore, IGN commented. Are Brett Dalton's fans ready to accept that scenario?

Fitz, Simmons and Will

With Fitz returning without Will, Simmons already know that Will has died. Fitz learned that Will died saving Simmons from the Inhuman, who inhabited Will's human body.

Although it was a painful news for Simmons, what's important for her is that Fitz is alive. She even corrected the calculations given to Gideon Malick (Powers Boothe) so that Fitz's life will be spared, even though it means that the Maveth Inhuman will also enter the portal to Earth. This is just how much Fitz means to her.

Will Fitz tell her what Coulson did to Ward?
