"Gilmore Girls" fans can't wait to be back in Stars Hollow and it looks like the hotly anticipated project is well on its way as news on the show's revival drop more details on the project.

According to a report from TV Line, the Netflix show might be taking a while, but everything indicates it is well underway.

"Slooooooow," Michael Aussielo described the production of the fan-favorite show, suggesting it may be a while before the much-awaited revival hits the screen.

Still, there's no need to fret for fans fearing the show's mortality. He added, "But Warner Bros. TV is apparently pretty confident that all the key players will sign on the dotted line since the sets are already being constructed!"

A previous report from the Hollywood Reporter said that instead of a traditional series, the "Gilmore Girls" revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes divided into the four seasons.

The show, which ran successfully for seven seasons, revolved around the mother-daughter tandem of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore played by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. It goes without saying that the project wouldn't even have taken off without the pair's willingness to return to their iconic roles. Other regulars Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are also expected to reprise their characters, according to Broadway World.

Meanwhile, other "Gilmore Girls" favorites have expressed their willingness to return to Stars Hollow and reprise their small-town roles.

"While I was actually here, I got an email from the producers," Milo Ventimiglia who plays Jess Mariano said during the Wizard World Comic Con, according to Pop Crush. "Just to be able to speak their words again, of course I would do it. So I told them, yeah, of course I'll do it."

Scheduling may be tricky for the actor who will be starring in an NBC dramedy with Mandy Moore, but it's good to know he's willing to jump in.

Liza Weil, who played Rory's frenemy Paris Geller and is now a regular in hit television show "How to Get Away with Murder," hasn't talked to the producers yet but said she also wants to be on the show, according to a report from E! Online.

"I haven't heard that I'm not coming back," Weil revealed. "I just haven't officially signed on. I hope to be a part of it!"

While Rory's bestie may be excited to come back, Lorelai's onscreen best friend Sookie St. James may not be returning for the revival. Actress Melissa McCarthy is reportedly not expected to return due to film commitments, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
