If you're looking to get a brand-new Samsung phone -- especially if you're looking at the S5, which will be the new flagship phone set to drop in four days! -- you can be rest assured that a new anti-theft device will be able to help you preserve your data on your phone should you be unlucky enough to experience those who wish to get a five-finger discount on your hard-earned phone!

According to USA Today, the phones made from hereinout by the company will feature "Find My Mobile" and "Reactivation Lock" anti-theft features to protect the soon-to-be-released Galaxy S5. These programs, which are free, will cause the phone to lock if unauthorized attempts to unlock the phone are made. These programs will be made available by default on the S5 phones sold by Verizon and US Cellular.

"Samsung takes the issue of smartphone theft very seriously, and we are continuing to enhance our security and anti-theft solutions," the company said in a statement when asked about the new system implanted in the phone.

And, according to Fashion Times, the reason Samsung had decided to install this feature is due to measures brought about by San Franciso district attorney George Gascon, New York attorney Eric Schneiderman and several U.S. law enforcement officials, all of whom are working in tandem to make sure that the thefts of smartphones are handled in an efficient, and non-violent, manner.

"The decision ... to provide Samsung's Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock features on Galaxy S5 smartphones and to allow those features to be activated for free is a step forward in our effort to ensure the industry makes effective theft deterrents available on every smartphone soled in America," said Schneiderman and Gascon in a joint statement.

The new flagship of the Samsung line, the Galaxy S5, will be available beginning April 11. Prices range from $199.99 (with a two year contract) to $600 (without a contract).
