The New England Patriots are 11-2 and coming off a nice victory over the Houston Texans, but players just keep on falling. The Patriots take on the Tennessee Titans next, and quite a bit of notable players will be missing from action due to injury.

LeGarrette Blount is the latest to go down. Blount injured his hip in the 27-6 win over the Texans. Unfortunately for him and the Patriots, his season is over. Bill Belichick has put Blount on injured reserve. This is a huge blow because Blount was the Patriots' leading rusher this season with 703 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

Other injury updates include the following.

Devin McCourty

Devin McCourty has been a solid free safety for the Patriots over the years, but he was hurt as well against the Texans. McCourty has a sprained ankle, but it isn't believed to be serious. We already know McCourty won't miss the playoffs, but there is a chance he could miss this weekend's game against the Titans. On the positive side for the patriots, Jamaican strong safety Patrick Chung will be playing as he has returned to practice.

Status: Questionable

Dont'a Hightower

Dont'a Hightower missed the last two games since suffering an MCL sprain against the Broncos. Hightower has accumulated 3.5 sacks and 47 tackles in the 10 games he has played this season. It's still up in the air on whether or not he will play this weekend, but the Patriots may not risk it considering Jamie Collins has returned from his illness. The Patriots have been plagued by the injury bug this season, but they have great linebacker depth.

Status: Questionable

Rob Gronkowski

It's amazing Rob Gronkowski played last week after that gruesome looking injury against the Denver Broncos. He didn't just participate, he dominated. Having Gronkowski on the field makes so much of a difference for Tom Brady and creates huge matchup problems for opposing teams. Gronkowski is scheduled to play yet again this weekend. Hopefully he stays healthy.

Status: Will play

Julian Edelman

Positive news out of New England this week, and that's that Julian Edelman has returned to practice. Edelman has a broken foot, and in mid November he had a screw inserted in it. He will not play against the Titans, but it very much appears as if he is making a full recovery for a playoff return. Getting a No. 1 or No. 2 seed is critical for the Patriots so they get the first round bye week to rest injured players. Danny Amendola will be starting in his place again.
