A new Captain America trailer has been unveiled for international audiences.

The trailer is in many ways a trimmed-down version of the previous U.S. trailer unveiled a week ago, but this one might actually be better.

While some might find reasons to gripe about the shorter running time (close to a minute less), this trailer is far more focused on Captain America, giving a clear and defined look at his arc in the forth-coming film.

There is not much new footage to ponder over, but it is interesting that Marvel thought that a more concise trailer with less action and more attention to story would have a greater appeal to an international audience, while favoring a more effects-heavy version for American viewers.

The movie is one of the most hotly anticipated films of 2016, an "Avengers" movie in all but name, but the first to show the major superheroes that we have seen fight together actually try and take one another down.

The battle between Iron Man and Captain America has been hinted in the two previous Avengers films and it will now lead to the creation of separate factions in the upcoming film.

The first two Captain America films were solid hits for the company and there is an expectation that this could be the most potent at the box office in the trilogy. It is possible that given its roster of superheroes, including the first appearance of Spider-Man and Black Panther, this film could be a hit in the neighborhood of the two "Avengers" films; both movies made well over $400 million with the first one making over $600 million. The previous "Captain America" movies made a combined $436 million in domestic gross.

The new film will hit theaters on May 6, 2016. It is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
