LG plans to continue the trend with flexible and bendable phones. This time, it looks like they will switch things up in their design of a curved phone.

LG could be producing a curved phone that would curve over the top of the device instead of the sides, Tech Radar reports.

This is a whole different design for a smartphone. Instead of curving around the sides, like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, this phone would roll around the top of the device.

LG's last curved phone was the LG G Flex 2. The G Flex 2 has a slight flex in the screen and body and when it was sat on it would flex back to its original slight banana-shape. The rumored phone will be different than the G Flex 2.

Well-known leaker Evan Blass tweeted about the upcoming LG smartphone with a curved display.

This rumored curved phone would not be an LG G Flex 3, instead the screen would actually continue past the top of the phone and wrap a little around the back of the device.

The extra screen space wrapped around the back of the phone could give LG a spot to place alerts, the time or the weather.

Extra curved edges have worked on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge because they allow users to see alerts and swipe through menus.

The design of the curved over the top LG phone could be a little awkward, and it might make it difficult for phone case makers to design a case that would protect the screen.

Phone Arena reported earlier that there is no LG G Flex smartphone planned for 2016. LG probably will not make any announcements on their next phone until the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
