Unconfirmed details about LG G5 continue to circulate online including its possible release date, specs, and features.

According to a recent report from Phone Arena, LG G5 might have a release date set for at some point in the first quarter of 2016. If this is to be believed, it contradicts previous reports triggered by a South Korean website Daum, which claimed that the release date for LG's upcoming flagship device will happen during the second quarter of next year, particularly an unveiling on April 2016.

As for the design and specs, it seems like LG will be veering away from the plastic body as the LG G5 is rumored to be encapsulated in a full metal frame. This specific rumor about the LG G5 body further intensified as the South Korean tech giant equipped its newest offering, the LG V10 with "stainless steel sides."

For the uninitiated, below is a YouTube video from Android Authority talking more about LG V10:

Under the hood, the LG G5 is expected to come with a more powerful processor and the latest reports suggest that it will get the freshest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820. For better graphics performance, LG G5's processor might be paired with Adreno 530 GPU.

A previous Latin Post report further noted other plausible specs for LG G5, as claimed by a popular tipster, named Zealer. Accordingly, the upcoming smartphone will have a 5.6-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560. Some are also suggesting that a 4K display for the LG G5 could also happen.

Another potential specs coming for LG G5 is the iris scanning security technology. Microsoft made this feature possible for its Lumia 950 and 950 XL, thus, tech experts are now anticipating other major smartphone makers to use this feature in their devices.

The inclusion of this biometric functionality for the LG G5 sounds even more feasible especially with the news that the tech giant is partnering with a Korean-based company called Irience to create the iris scanning module for the rumored device.

Furthermore, the shooting specs for the LG G5 might have a big leap from the current flagship device. From LG G4's 16MP lens sensor for the primary camera, as posted on GSM Arena's specs list for the phone, it has been reported that the 2016 flagship will sport a 20MP camera or much greater lens sensor.

Meanwhile, the selfie shooter for the LG G5 will have 8MP lens sensor. For the price, the LG G5 might have a tag worth around $600.
