The congress, senators and the president. All of them have something in common, apart from the fact that we voted for them in the first place, they are all been stereotyped to be manipulative, conniving and lastly, liars.

The hit Netflix series "House of Cards" perfectly captures all the bad images that a politician can have and without further ado, here are just some of the biggest LIES U.S. politicians told us this 2015.

1. Obama Is Not Bombing ISIS' Oil Fields Because He's Concerned About Global Warming

That particular sentiment came from Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

According to a report by Business Insider, the said statement is actually from misquoted CIA official. Because according to an official report by the United States Department of Defense, the Obama administration destroyed a total of 260 oil infrastructure, in addition to over a hundred of tanks, 300 HMMWV's and almost 5,000 infantry.

Whether he's just misinformed or plain lying, one thing is for sure -- he is wrong.

2. The Keystone XL Pipeline Will Bypass America

This came from Mr. President himself. For Barack Obama's administration, it has become increasingly difficult to pretend that the failure to whether or not to allow the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline was anything other than political.

As noted, it suggested that the pipeline would carry dirty and environmentally tar sands oil through the heart of the country, only to see it put on tankers and be taken away.

3. The Defense of Marriage Act Need To Be Enacted To Stop Anti-Gay Marriage Amendments

In defense of her husband, former president Bill Clinton, Democratic presidential aspirant Hilary Clinton said that DOMA had to be enacted as a defensive action to prevent a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

However, the Washington Post reported that there is little evidence in public records that was the case, despite Hilary saying that "there was enough political momentum" at the time to amend the constitution.

4. Climate Change Is Directly Related To The Growing Cases of Terrorism

That statement came from Senator Bernie Sanders, one of the popular Presidential candidates right now.

So is climate change to blame for the growth of terrorism? Not really. There is little theoretical argument that the environmental stress on some population causes people to go the extreme route and terrorize people.

5. "I watched thousands and thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheer as the World Trade Center fell"

The biggest lie said by a politician according to the New Hampshire Public Radio came from The Donald himself.

There was zero evidence that a bunch of Muslims cheered as the towers fell. Despite being repeatedly debunked, Trump continues to assert that he was correct, despite failing to provide a single evidence.
