Nissan unveiled its new 2016 Nissan Titan XD and it's receiving hefty praises from automobile pundits in the country.

According to Automobile Mag, the new truck from the Japanese auto maker will be priced a bit lower than equivalent heavy-duty domestic trucks, as it will have a base price of $41,485 with the top of the line Platinum Reserve 4 x 4 model clocking in at $61,715.

According to Nissan, "There's never been a TITAN like this and the diesel-powered TITAN XD Crew Cab is only the beginning."

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD offers a crew cab body style with one box size and will come with a standard 5.0-liter turbodiesel V8 engine, which can offer 555 lb-ft of torque and 310 of horsepower.

In a similar report by the Press Telegraph, Nissan made a decision to launch the XD variant first that highlighted the 5.0-liter diesel powerplant that they co-developed with Cummins.

It has yet to have an official EPA rating, but it has a projected fuel economy similar to the Ra 1500 EcoDiesel, which have a combined 22 to 23 MPG combined.

It was noted that the truck will have an available Around View Monitor, which provides a unique "bird's eye" view of the surrounding that will help the driver with parking and pulling in and out of tight spaces. Moreover, the top of the line Platinum Reserve variant will come in a two-tone paint color and dark chrome exterior trim, leather-appointed heated seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood insert.

Car and Driver reported that the diesel variant will be paired with an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission that will be an exclusive to the XD model.

Drivers need not to worry about rough roads as it sports a coil-spring independent front suspension and a solid rear axle supported by leaf springs.

As for its other features, the truck will have a 151.6-inch wheelbase, a 6.5-foot cargo bed and will be available in both two and four wheel drive variants.

In addition, the new truck from Nissan has been named as one of the three finalist for the 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year and was also recently named as the "Truck of Texas" by the Texas Auto Writers Association or TAWA in their annual 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo.

This event puts the industry's best trucks, SUVs and CUVs through a tough two-day evaluation at the historical Knibbe Ranch in Spring Branch, Texas.

With awards and achievements like these, it seems that the 2016 Nissan Titan can speak for itself.
