Wednesday’s chance to win big money playing Powerball is here.

The grand prize is currently at $227 million, with a cash value of $141 million.

Last Saturday’s winning numbers were 28, 30, 41, 59, and 68, and the Powerball was 10. There were regular 943,659 winners, and $9,560,017 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are nine ways to win at Powerball. There is a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of getting the grand prize, and a 1 in 11,688,053.52 in winning $1,000,000. Playing it safe, a player has a 1 in 38 chance of simply doubling their money on a $2 ticket.

A Powerball player is St. Louis has just won $1 million.

As KSDK News reports, May Scheve Reardon, the executive director of the Missouri Lottery, has offered some advice to the winner who has yet to come forward.

"If you're holding this lucky ticket, please sign the back of it immediately,” she said. "Then keep it in a safe place until you are ready to claim your prize at one of our lottery offices."

By definition, lottery winners are lucky folks. But coming into big money does not necessarily do a thing to change the persona of the winner.

Douglas P. Miron, a Wisconsin Powerball player who won $31.4 million in 2009, is currently facing jail time for some odd and obsessive behavior.

The Journal Sentinel reports that the 49-year-old is up against several felony charges related to his fixation on a teenage girl, whom he hired to clean his house. His unrequited affection toward a minor is not the only thing he is in trouble for. Aside from stalking charges, Miron faces counts on burglary, perjury, and even threatening someone with a gun.

Having the extra money around to deal with his new legal problems has certainly been beneficial. Miron is currently free on a $100,000 bond.
