New reports suggest Fifth Harmony's new single, off of their upcoming sophomore album, will be none other than the Tinashe-penned track "She's My Girl."

In an interview with Spin, Tinashe confirmed that she did in fact write a song called "She's My Girl," and that is now being considered as the group's first single off of their upcoming sophomore album.

Whether that plan will fall through remains to be seen but the group has expressed their excitement by the possibility of the singer, known for hits like "2 On" and "All Hands on Deck," being an important part of their record.

Lauren Jauregui discussed Tinashe with Spin and revealed she believes the 22-year-old is admirable for her melody flows, lyrics and authenticity.

"She has really sick melody flows and lyrics," Jauregui said. "It's very cohesive with us. It's drawing from the same experience. That's what's important at the end of the day: having an authentic sound and having someone who understands what we're going through." 

In November, Camila Cabello revealed to Fuse TV that the upcoming Fifth Harmony album is in the finishing stages and should be coming out early 2016.

She also explained why "5H2," as they are currently unofficially calling their second album, will be a big change for the pop group.

"We really worked very, very hard on this album, and we wanted to make sure it was perfect, especially coming after Reflection," she said.

"It's such a different thing than we were doing before. I think vocally, we've improved a lot on this album. You get to hear every girl doing something different, something that they've never done before." 

The group is working with producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke on the new album, which also features written material by singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor, who wrote "Sledgehammer" and a new track called "Tinderella," reported MTV.

As for who else the group is hoping to collaborate with in the future, Cabello named Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Mariah Carey.
