With Marvel and Warner Bros. creating their own superhero worlds, it looks like Fox may be working on creating one of their own.

In the trailer to Fox's upcoming spinoff "Deadpool," there is a hint of experiments related to the "X-Men" series and at the 1:10 minute mark there is a glimpse of Marrow, an obscure X-Men character. In the "X-Men" series, the character is a mutant whose bones grow out of her skin. Those bones can be removed from her body and become knives that she uses as a weapon.

Marrow has been associated with multiple teams including X-Cell, Morlocks, Gene Nation, X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., Weapon X and X-Force. If she does appear in "Deadpool," it will be the second Morlock to appear in a Fox film. Caliban is already confirmed for "X-Men: Apocalypse" so there is always a possibility of Marrow and Caliban uniting in future films.

"Deadpool" has already appeared in the Wolverine origins film and even though that movie flopped critically, Ryan Reynolds will reprise the role in the upcoming film. Fox has not confirmed how the "X-Men" series will continue after "Apocalypse" but the studio is already developing a "Gambit" film, which is also associated with the "X-Men" world. That movie will star Channing Tatum but there is no news on what characters will appear or who else will star in the film.

The upcoming "Deadpool" is directed by Tim Miller and tells the story of a former Special Forces operative-turned-mercenary who is subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the script while Simon Kinberg, Reynolds and Lauren Shuler Donner produced.

The film is slated to star Reynolds, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller and Rachel Sheen and will be released on Feb. 12, 2016.
