The jailbreak community has waited for months for an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool, and soon their wait could be over as more than one jailbreak team is said to be working on an official jailbreak tool.

Both the TaiG and Pangu jailbreak teams are said to be close to releasing an official jailbreak tool, The Bitbag reports.

Pangu released a "partial" jailbreak called the semi-jailbreak for iOS 9.1, but it was not complete and missing many features. TaiG has a similar incomplete jailbreak solution for iOS 9.1.

A partner of TaiG, the Chinese development group 3K Assistant said on the Chinese social media website Weibo that they are very close to releasing an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool.

The jailbreak community has been stuck on the iOS 9 jailbreak tool created by Pangu. Apple has patched the exploits and vulnerabilities found by Pangu in iOS 9.1. If users upgrade to iOS 9.1 or 9.2, they will not be able to jailbreak their devices.

Many fake jailbreak tools and websites have surfaced that promise jailbreak solutions for iOS 9.2. These websites try to trick users into thinking that they can download a jailbreak tool by paying a small fee or giving up personal information. The downloads usually contain viruses or malware that can do a great deal of damage on a user's device.

Pangu and TaiG have always offered their jailbreak tools as free downloads and do not collect personal information. The Pangu jailbreak tool allows devices running up to iOS 9.0.2 to be jailbroken.

Apple already has released iOS 9.2.1 in beta form to developers and beta testers. Apple will soon release iOS 9.2.1 to the public and after that, there might not be any future iOS versions until iOS 10.

Before performing any jailbreak, users are advised to backup all of their data, contacts and files in case the jailbreak causes their device to crash on them.
