Tory Burch kicked off her New Year to a good start by getting engaged. The fashion designer recently announced her engagement to her boyfriend Pierre-Yves Roussel on social media.

Burch took to her Instagram page to share the exciting news online and to her one million followers. The 49-year old marked the memorable moment with a photo showing her smiling as she held on to Roussel's arm. She captioned the shot: "We are tying the knot...#blessed #engaged #happynewyear." However, Burch has yet to reveal her engagement ring since the photo showed no sign of her wearing the accessory on her finger.

The fashion designer also confirmed the engagement with the 50-year-old Roussel to WWD. However, she did not reveal other details such as the wedding date.

Little is known about the couple's romantic history. According to People, Burch and Roussel have been dating since the summer of 2014. Roussel is chairman and chief executive officer of the Louis Vuitton Moet-Hennessy or LVMH Fashion Group.

However, this would be Burch's third marriage. She was reportedly previously married to real-estate mogul Harry B. Macklowe. She was also married to J. Christopher Burch, the fashion label owner of C. Wonder. She still uses his last name although she and J. Christopher already divorced in 2006.

It's believed Burch's engagement will not interfere with Roussel's hectic schedule as he travels between Paris and New York to oversee his businesses with top fashion designers Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs. He will continue to split his time between work and personal reasons, and will continue to do so even during his marriage with Burch.

The pair met through their line of work and have only dated for more than a year. They first grabbed dating headlines in July after a source confirmed to Page Six about Burch's relationship with the Paris-based CEO of LVMH Fashion Group.

Back in February 2013, Roussel was spotted sitting front row at Burch's New York Fashion Week show. It was speculated at that time that the 50-year old was willing to invest on the designer's brand. At that time, Roussel said his presence at her fashion show was purely based on his interest at her fashion pieces.

"I like what she does. That's the only reason," Roussel had said when asked about a possible business negotiation with Burch's brand. A spokesperson for LVMH had also confirmed that no arrangement was made between the two parties.
