Carmelo Anthony may have played his last game in a New York Knicks uniform as the superstar forward is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

But according to Fox Sports' Sam Amico, most league executives are still convinced that Anthony, who averaged 27.4 points and 8.1 rebounds this season, will re-sign with the Knicks this summer.

Aside from the fact that the Knicks can offer the biggest contract to Anthony, Phil Jackson's hiring reportedly solidified the Knicks' chances of retaining the 29-year-old superstar.

But while the Knicks are still the favorites in the race to sign Anthony, sources indicated that the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Clippers are still planning to make a strong push to sign him in the offseason.

"He (Anthony) should have a number of suitors on the open market. The Knicks can sign him to a five-year contract worth $129,135,806. If he signs with another team, the maximum he can get is $95,897,372 over four years," ESPN New York's Ian Begley wrote. "The Bulls, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are among a group of teams expected to pursue him this summer."

Among the interested teams, the Bulls are viewed as the biggest threat to the Knicks after Anthony said that he loves how coach Tom Thibodeau has been leading the Bulls despite the injuries that slowed down their campaign this season.

"Thibs is a great coach. His system kind of reminds me of Gregg Popovich's system," Anthony said. "You put anybody in that system and it's going to work. And that's what they've been doing. They had guys who have been sitting out all season long, guys [have] been in and out the lineup, and they seem to get it done."

Previous rumors also indicated that Bulls All-Star center Joakim Noah made a pitch to Anthony during the All-Star break, telling the 11-year veteran that he should sign with the Bulls if he wants to win a championship ring.
