In a recent post by ComingSoon, they confirmed the upcoming 20th Century Fox's movie "Gambit" to start its production by March. "Gambit" will be directed by Doug Liman of "Edge of Tomorrow," but prior to the director landing the project, it was first reported that the film was first offered to Rupert Wyatt, director of "Rise of the Planet Apes."

Channing Tatum plays the lead role on the said movie, something that he has fought for before landing the project. He is also one of the producers, giving him an edge on choosing the right director for the film.

When news broke that Marvel is indeed releasing at least three movies in 2016, "Gambit" was one of them. But at the time, the said title didn't have a director yet. In a report by the Latin Post, Tatum went as far as asking Doug Liman to direct the film. It looks like he finally gave in and took in the project. With director in tow, the script of the upcoming movie "Gambit" will be from scriptwriter Josh Zemuter. Other producers for the film include Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg. Set to be released in October 2016, the movie "Gambit" will follow releases from other Marvel movies like "Deadpool," which is set to be released in February as well as "X-Men: Apocalypse" in April.

Lea Seydoux of "Spectre" will join Channing Tatum in the movie. According to WGNO, the movie is still currently casting on new characters set for the movie's extras. Details about the film's production bring us slightly to the South of New Orleans. The casting calls include some military operatives, wherein real military experience and operative is a must. Parasource armed men and parasource tech aide were also included on the casting requirements.

Channing Tatum during the Golden Globe Awards sported a quirky haircut that significantly relates to his character in the movie "Gambit." This led to more speculations that the movie has already tread on its first level of production. Collider said that if everything else will fall into place, "Gambit" may be released on Oct. 7, 2016. With a production set to begin this March, the seven-month allowance for 20th Century Fox to finish the film will be more than enough to beat the date.
