Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez is being recruited to an all-star cast for the upcoming sci-fi flick "Annihilation."

According to The Wrap, Rodriguez, Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and fast rising star Tessa Thompson are all up for roles in the Paramount film produced by Scott Rudin. Directed by Alex Garland, the film follows the trials and tribulations of a band of women who take on "a dangerous mission where the laws of nature don't apply."

The group of daredevils is made up of an anthropologist; a surveyor; a psychologist, who serves as the group's de facto leader; and a biologist, who serves as the narrator.

Fresh off her starring role in the much acclaimed "Creed," Thompson is rumored be in early discussions for the film, which is expected to start shooting sometime in the spring.

Meanwhile, the good times seem to keep on rolling for Rodriguez. The 31-year-old star recently appeared at the Golden Globe awards gleefully on the arm of her father, Genaro. Rodriguez joked that her sister, who came as her plus one last year, fought her dad for the ticket this time around.

The "Jane the Virgin" star raved about being on her father's arm and looked the picture of contentment.

"I'm trying not to cry," she told People Magazine. "All I keep telling myself is, 'Don't cry, the makeup artist will kick you're *ss.'"

Rodriguez celebrated her perfect night in a glitzy Zac Posen gown, which sharply contrasted how the actress claimed she spent the earlier part of her day.

"I woke up and I cleaned up my dog's sh*t on the ground, I cleaned my apartment 'cause it was really messy and I knew I had a bunch of people coming over," she said. "I vacuumed my bedroom because the carpet was gross."
